Teddy Bears in Oz Blog Hop

Welcome to the Teddy Bears in Oz Blog Hop!  I am kicking off the hop and am so excited to share our creations with you!  Today we are featuring teddy bears created from the Cricut Lite cartridge Teddy Bear Parade dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz.  Fun, right?

The main portion of this background was created using the new Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridge Animal Antics.

The Emerald City was found on the Batman cartridge and Toto from Paper Pups.

As you embark on your journey down the yellow brick road, be sure to leave a comment at each stop for a chance to win your very own Teddy Bear Parade cartridge!  Once you have completed the hop, stop back here and leave a comment to let me know so that you can be entered to win.  I will be using Random.Org to select a winner on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.  Please leave a way for me to notify you in case you are the lucky winner.

I am also including the craft file to the entire Teddy Bear's in Oz hop for easy recreation;

Thank you again for joining us today.  Your next stop down the yellow brick road is with the talented Melody at Melody Lane Designs.

Suburbia Meets October Afternoon's 9 to 5 Collection

When the Cricut cartridge Suburbia was released, I just knew it would be a perfect fit to craft with October Afternoon's 9 to 5 collection.  This set is actually my third set, each different than the others.  I am still working on the photos for the other sets, but wanted to share this set with you today since I shared it on the Cricut Fanatics blog.

This is the cover to a notepad.

The following four cards showcase a different "working girl" cut from a sheet of 12x12 from the OA collection.

This a a quick box I made to house the card set.

Materials Used:
  • Cricut cartridge Suburbia
  • October Afternoon's 9 to 5 collection
  • Stampin' Up! cardstock in Night of Navy, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Groovy Guava
  • Seam binding ribbon in black and white

Butterfly Frames

Here are some mini framed art pieces I created using the Imagine cartridge Lor's Garden.

Materials Used:
  • Imagine cartridge Lori's Garden
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder damask
  • White cardstock
  • Glitter cardstock in pink and iridescent
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Broken China
  • Stampin' Up! Pool Party seam binding ribbon
  • Coordinating pink ribbon from my stash
  • Misc coordinating rhinestones
  • Misc coordinating hat pins
I purchased the frames in a 2-pk from Target to house my images in, removing the glass.  I hand cut the base layer of the frames with coordinating glitter cardstock (also purchased at Target for $.99 for two sheets).   I then printed and cut my images from the Imagine cartridge Lori's Garden. Next, I hand cut slightly smaller, embossed, and inked the edges of the white word background.  I wrapped each word layer with coordinating seam binding ribbon, creating a bow to the edge and pop dotted them on to the glitter layers.  I assembled my butterflies, inking the edges and pop dotting the layers as I added them and glued them to the white layer.  I completed the frames by adding rhinestones to the butterflies and a coordinating hat pin to each ribbon bow.

Baby Girl Mini

I designed this mini album for my local scrapbook store Every Last Scrap.

Materials Used:
  • ADORN it Baby Girl mini Album
  • Misc ribbon
  • Yellow/white twine
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick
  • Stampin' Up! white library clip
  • Stampin' Up! Springtime Vintage button
  • Yellow safety pin
  • Velcro enclosure
This mini album comes with all the images and phrases you need on one piece of printed cardstock.  All you have to do is punch out the pieces, fold the album as directed, and then your ready to embellish as desired.  I inked many of the edges with distress ink, added ribbon , and used a few misc embellishments to personalize my mini.  It also comes with lots of space and a couple of tags to journal on.

I encourage you to visit your local scrapbook store and give them some business.  It's so nice to see the latest collections in person and true color.  You can also find out when the latest crop dates are so that you can meet some like minds to share your love of crafting with.

Exploring the Cricut Lite Cartridge ~ Teddy Bear Parade

Being that today is New Year's Day, I thought we should start off the year with a parade.  A Teddy Bear Parade to be exact!  These bears are created by some of the many very talented crafters from the Cricut Circle message board. Each bear is lovingly crafted with a variety of papers, embellishments, and textures using the Cricut Lite cartridge, Teddy Bear Parade. There are a lot of different bears on this cartridge, 50 to be exact. Since there were so many bears, I broke them down into two categories: Occasion and Character. This swap was so popular and filled so fast, that I opened two sign up groups for each category so that everyone that wanted to, could join in on the swapping fun. So you are in for an even BIGGER treat...you get to see two examples of EVERY bear on this cartridge!

Let the parade begin!
